Greetings from Prestige Watches UK. We are a 5-star seller on both Chrono24 and Trustpilot with hundreds of watches sold.

Presenting a stunning Rolex Submariner 2-tone (steel and 18ct gold) reference: 16613. This watch was born in the second part of 1991 and is an ‘N’ serial. Complete with its box, The Watch Register certification and guarantee of originality, it is in great condition, perfect working order and looks fantastic. It was serviced in 2018.

Quick message from the seller.

“Here at Prestige Watches UK we believe a watch is far more than just a simple teller of time. It is a real-life companion that will emote feelings of happiness and joy through your life journey.

It is a mechanical life form that has spirit and personality and will inspire, motivate and generate positive energy from within.

If one day gifted to that special ‘someone’, a treasured watch will pass sentiment and meaning to the hands of others like few other gifts can achieve”

Our mission here at Prestige Watches is to spread ‘Watch Happiness’ around the world and promote the feelings of joy that come with buying a new watch.

This watch is an icon of its age where you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Iron fist and velvet glove with the gravitas of the Rolex brand. This is a watch for the classy adventurer and now discontinued (has been replaced by the 116613), it is still a valuable collector’s item.

Rolex designed and developed the Submariner in 1953, and was introduced to the world at Basel Watch Fair 1954. This was of course a steel-only tool watch. The first transition of the Submariner from its steel-only appearance with an all-gold luxury variation was in the late 60’s. Then, the steel & gold two-tone reference 16803 made a debut in the market in 1984.

The watch you are looking at here, the 16613, began production in 1988 and had a long production run.

In 2009, the reference 116613 replaced it, featuring the now-proprietary Cerachrom bezel.

Many collectors prefer the 16613 to the newer 116613 in terms of appearance. This watch is slimmer and more proportionate than the “super size” newer watch. This watch is pre ‘super case’, has a slimmer profile and with the collector’s favourite aluminium bezel which is much sought after. This black and gold two-tone watch is certainly less common than its steel-only or steel + blue brothers.

This Rolex reference is often referred to in the watch community as ‘the most underrated Submariner’ – which is good for you as it is a bargain. The ref. 16613 belongs to that series of Subs considered by many devotees as ‘the last of the best’

This watch should be your choice if you have a great love and enjoyment of both luxury and adventure. Black tie, no tie. Business suit, bathing suit. Ocean dive, desk dive. Mountain range, golf range. Board room, living room. Bath tub, down the pub…

Black + gold is a very versatile colour combination. Here at Prestige Watches we love blue, green, gold, white dials, but you need to be more colour conscious in your attire to well-match a coloured dial. Black and gold literally goes with anything. You have to try it to believe it.

If you want a genuinely dual-purpose watch, this is the ultimate hybrid. Picture this scenario you are adventuring outdoors in the woods, mountains or beach and need something tank tuff, robust and solid. When finished you want to shower off and get in your smart/casual attire and head to the office or city centre, ready to go without having to worry about a watch change.

This watch exudes the perfect blend of love for adventure, and luxury. If you want to portray a slightly more refined debonair look over an all-steel sports Rolex, then this is the watch for you – because disguised over a military grade, utility tool watch when you have a classic, great looking gentleman’s watch.

I once saw a chap wearing this watch at an airport. Coincidentally, I sat next to him on the plane. Even without talking to the man his watch told me so much about him!

I purchased one for myself a few days later and it became my one-and-done, any place, every day, whatever the weather watch. A watch that has had more wrist time than all my other watches. It is an addition to my personal collection that will never leave. It is ‘my watch’. If someone sees me at an airport, I hope my watch will do the same job of telling anyone who notices about my love of adventure and also appreciation of the finer things in life.

As watch lovers and collectors, our tastes change over time with age. Where once we may have preferred a steel only sports watch, the refined masculinity of this watch may be may now be perfect for you. Perhaps ‘back then’ we wanted a bigger, solid, tank tuff all-steel sports watch, whereas ‘now’ we want a more slimline, collectable timepiece that is more refined and gentlemanly.

This ‘do it all’ watch is a perfect balance of formal watch charm with tool-watch roots and could, potentially be your ONLY watch.

I hope it will make you as happy as it makes me.
